Experience growth through music.
About Me
I am a student music therapist in southwestern Ohio. My primary goal as a music therapist is to promote and provide an equitable, accessible, and beneficial form of healthcare within my community through my passion and education in music.
Although I am versed on a range of instruments for clinical purposes, including guitar, piano, and voice, I also have nearly ten years of experience on clarinet, in both classical and jazz settings. If you are interested in individual or adapted lessons, I would love to hear from you!
While at the University of Dayton, I am pursuing a psychology minor and honors diploma. I am extraordinarily grateful for the variety of musical opportunities that have been presented to me in my undergraduate education. In June 2020, I founded an advocacy program entitled the Composers of Color Initiative, which is currently being developed with the help of the associate conductor of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Patrick Reynolds, to include pre-professional composers and band works, virtually performed by young musicians. In May 2022, began work on an honors thesis, analyzing the benefits of music therapy for adolescents with attachment trauma, under the mentorship of Joy Willenbrink-Conte (MT-BC).
My personal and professional goal is to create the most positive impact possible within my shared community. I am incredibly privileged to carry out this vocation through my love and passion for music. My life-long engagement with music has had profound benefits towards my development, and I am truly eager to facilitate a similar type of care as a professional musician and music therapist.
Lessons
Having access to musical learning and engagement is vital to human development. As humans, we thrive on the autonomous creative expression that music has to offer. Not only will music-based lessons benefit cognitive functioning, memory, and learning skills, but it will also build your confidence, providing a new form of expression that is beneficial to your physical, cognitive, and emotional self. Regardless of age, experience, or background, I invite anyone interested to participate in a trial lesson to experience the many benefits music lessons have to offer.
